Congratulations to Ryan Fox!

Fun fact, the first time the Open was played at Royal Birkdale, was 16 years before the invention of the telephone! 

What a wild week at Royal Birkdale! The 194th Open got absolutely crazy with the scoring - we saw three different guys fire record-tying 62s throughout the week. Lucas Herbert and Sam Burns both went nuclear on Friday during the second round, then Ryan Fox joined the party with his own 62 on Saturday. When you've got that kind of low scoring happening, you know conditions were perfect and these guys were dialed in.

Things got really spicy with Bryson's 2-stroke penalty situation. Initially, he was livid about the whole thing - his agent was even floating the idea of him withdrawing because Bryson felt the ruling made him look like a "cheater." But you gotta give him credit - he cooled down, posted on X that the setback actually "fires me up," and stuck it out for the rest of the tournament. Ended up finishing at 4-under, so not terrible considering the drama.

Sunday was all about Cam Young making his move though. Dude was absolutely locked in during the final round, charging up that leaderboard and making things interesting down the stretch.

At the end of the day, Ryan Fox got it done for his first major championship. Pretty cool that his Saturday 62 helped set him up for the win!
