Your warm-up is hurting you

Most golfers think they need to “warm up” before they can practice well.
What usually happens is they burn their best focus without ever training anything specific.

I watched this play out in a lesson this week. The player hit 20 balls just trying to get loose, then felt rushed when it was time to actually work on something. By the time we got intentional, the session was half over.

Here’s the shift I want you to make:

  • Stop treating warm-up as a separate phase

  • Start using your first swings to train a skill

  • Let your body warm up through intention

Try this:
Pick one simple task for your first 10 balls — contact, start line, or tempo — and don’t hit anything “just to hit it.”
