Confidence isn’t what you think it is

Confidence isn’t something you either have or don’t.
It’s usually a byproduct of clarity.

I see players tighten up on the first tee not because they’re nervous, but because they’re carrying too many swing thoughts into the shot. Once we simplify the focus, the swing frees up.

Confidence follows clarity — not the other way around.

Here’s the shift I want you to make:

  • Stop trying to feel confident

  • Start committing to one clear intention

  • Let trust build from repetition

Try this:
On the first tee, pick one swing cue or target focus and stick with it — no adjustments mid-swing.

If you want help building on-course clarity, this is something we talk through often inside Fairway Finder Community. You can also reply and tell me where confidence tends to disappear for you.

New drills won’t fix old habits
A lot of golfers believe they just haven’t found the right drill yet.More often, they’re changing drills too quickly. I worked with someone this week who knew dozens of drills — but never stayed with one long enough to learn from it. Once we reused a single drill with better intention, progress showed up fast. Here’s the shift I want you to make: Stop collecting drills Start repeating one d...
Why touch shots feel so hard
Most golfers struggle around the greens because they’re trying to help the ball. That usually makes touch shots harder, not easier. I saw this with a player who was terrified of blading chips. Every motion slowed down, hands got involved, and contact suffered. Once we simplified the motion and trusted the club, the strike cleaned up immediately. Here’s the shift I want you to make: Stop try...
Good swings still need good decisions
A lot of golfers focus only on making better swings. But scoring also comes down to better decisions. I’ve seen players hit the ball solid all day and still struggle because they were aiming at pins they had no business going after. Once we adjusted targets, scores dropped without changing the swing. Here’s the shift I want you to make: Stop aiming at the perfect shot Start choosing targets ...
