Alignment quietly ruins good strokes

Mar 02, 2026

A lot of golfers say their stroke feels good — but the results don’t match.
Alignment is often the missing piece.

This came up with a player who rolled it great in practice but missed consistently on the course. Once we checked shoulder and eye alignment, the ball started where they expected again.

Here’s the shift I want you to make:

  • Stop blaming the stroke

  • Start checking how you’re set up

  • Let geometry make the stroke easier

Try this:
Set a club or alignment stick across your shoulders on the practice green and confirm where they’re parallel to the target line.

If putting consistency is a priority, this is a core pillar inside my digital course, a Great Putters Blueprint. Or reply and tell me whether you tend to miss left or right.
