Why your practice isn’t sticking

You’re not practicing too little.
You’re practicing without a clear purpose.

I see this all the time — players doing a lot of “good things,” but none of it really sticking when they get on the course.

This week, I worked with a player who was committed, motivated, and putting in the time. But every practice session turned into bouncing from drill to drill, hoping something would click. The effort was there. The clarity wasn’t.

Here’s the shift I want you to make:

  • Stop trying to fix everything in one session

  • Start choosing one skill you’re training that day

  • Let the reps serve that purpose instead of chasing results

Try this:
Before you practice, write down one thing you’re training and why. If the drill doesn’t support it, skip it.

If this sounds familiar, this is exactly how we structure practice inside Fairway Finder Community — or just hit reply and tell me what you usually default to working on.

You leave sweaty, but you don’t actually know if any of that moved you closer to lower scores. You didn’t have a plan. You just had time. Why guessing doesn’t work When you guess what to practice, you usually: Avoid your real weaknesse...
